IAE VTS hosted an event and created about 60 personal notes for the Special Ed basketball players participating in the Shamrock Showdown, on annual basketball tournament featuring teams from TCT, Avondale, and more. Our goal was to give back to the community by providing these encouraging notes to the Special Ed students, recognizing their skills and hard work.

On Feb 22nd, NFHS VTS club worked with Making Spirits Bright to organize and ship books. This organization works to deliver books to places called, “book deserts” in the Metro Detroit area.

On 2/10/25 Troy High VTS Club members had a great time making Valentine’s Day cards with “get well soon” messages for children in the hospital.

WIHI VTS hosted a volunteering event partnered with an organization supporting COPD patients called CAIR.

IAE VTS had an event where we partnered with a non-profit organization supporting COPD patients and research called CAIR! Volunteers used their creativity to do everything from making supporting cards to origami art for patients suffering from respiratory diseases.

Troy High VTS Club youths efficiently assembled and packaged ziplock bundles for 400 buckets for the disaster victims. In addition to that, our youth volunteers focused on preparing materials for the crochet bag, carefully cutting grocery bags into strips and forming loops to make mats.

This event offered a fun and fulfilling experience to our volunteers and worked to help those in California who were affected by the fires. Disaster Relief at Work (DRAW) is dedicated to providing relief services to communities across the United States affected by natural disasters. During the event, our VT Seva Detroit volunteers engaged in various tasks, including: 1. Examining used tarps to determine if they would be used to cover floors or roofs. 2. Cutting tarps into 4ths and folding them into the specified dimensions: 18x24in 3. Taping labels onto the folded tarps 4. Wrapping the tarps with cling wrap 5. Separating and stacking the roof and ground tarps before storing them. Our volunteers were able to impact and benefit DRAW so they can continue to aid communities in need.

This was a wonderful opportunity to be able to volunteer for the destined for greatness organization to help be a part of supporting families in need, and empowering the community. This organization does a lot of work in Detroit for the community. For this event specifically, they organize a free giveaway to over 250 metro Detroit families in need, every year on MLK day, taking this holiday to support these people, providing them with sanitary equipment, all types of clothes, accessories, and food for them to take. VT Seva volunteers have the opportunity to take part in this giveaway every year, giving us the chance to help in supporting these families.

IAE VTS Volunteers made 30 bags of snowman craft kits for the children at the children’s hospital in Detroit

This was a very fulfilling & great opportunity to support individuals and families in need of food, clothing, and social work assistance. During the event, our VT Seva Detroit volunteers engaged in various tasks, including sorting, organizing food items, clothing, toys & hygiene items. The efforts of our volunteers ensured that the Capuchin Services Center could continue providing essential services to the community efficiently.

For this grocery bag drive VTSEVA DETROIT Youth Board collected about 1,136 clean plastic bags to give to Open Door Ministries. They will be using these bags to package goods and other necessities for people in need.

VT Seva Detroit Youths conducted the very successful5th annual Outreach program. Through their contacts using their communication skills they raised funds to support 72+ students education for one whole year.

VTS Detroit conducted Bell Ringing event for Salvation Army

On Dec 21st 2024, VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board help run the Capuchin Services Christmas Giveaway. They helped stock presents, helped attendees shop for presents, and helped greet and register attendees for this event. We helped over 300 families and around 600 kids during this event.

VTS Detroit Youths conducted a bell ringing event for Salvation Army

On Dec 14th 2024, VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board participated at the Community Family Life Center (CFLC), where we helped pack produce, canned goods, toiletries, and dairy. These items are then loaded into cars of people in need. We were able to help around 100 households and around 300 people.

NFHS VTS Club made posters for our food drive! The drive accepts canned and non perishable goods

Troy IAE VTS Club members helped Play Place to organize their annual Christmas party, the “North Poll Stroll” by doing various things like serving lunch, managing games and activities! It was a great way to spend time engaging with our community.

We made Thanksgiving craft kits for kids at the C.S. Motts Childrens hospital. Volunteers cut out parts for the paper turkeys and added the materials to assemble the turkey into ziploc bags.
