Double the donation/Double the impact

Many companies provide donation matching for contributions made to nonprofit organizations. When you donate to nonprofit, your employer matches or exceeds your donation, effectively doubling OR even tripling your impact!

How it works

  • Check if Your Employer Offers Gift Matching

    • Look at your company’s intranet or HR portal for a matching gift program.

    • Ask your HR or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team

  • Understand the Matching Criteria

    • Eligibility: Some companies only match donations to specific types of nonprofits (e.g., education, disaster relief, arts).

    • Match Ratio: Most companies match 1:1, but some offer 2:1 or even 3:1.

    • Minimum & Maximum Limits: Companies set annual donation limits (e.g., $50 minimum, $5,000 maximum per employee).

    • Eligible Employees: Some programs are available only to full-time employees, while others include part-time employees or retirees

  • Make Your Donation​

    • Contribute directly through your company's donation portal: Many large organizations have their own giving platforms. Check in with your HR department or search your internal site for terms like "gift matching" or "donations." Once you locate the portal, look for the non-profit organization "VT Seva" to make your donation. Your company will automatically match your contribution up to a specified limit and under certain conditions.​

    • Donate via the VT Seva website and submit for matching request: When you donate on our VT Seva website, you'll receive a receipt via email. You can take a screenshot or copy of this receipt to submit on your company's internal donation site. 

    • Follow your company’s process, which may include:

      • Filling out an online form in the company’s matching gift portal.

      • Submitting a paper form to HR.

      • Providing VT Seva's Tax ID:80-0271287 and donation receipt.

  • Encourage Others

    • Remind colleagues about gift matching, especially during Giving Tuesday or end-of-year donation drives.

 

By leveraging gift matching, you can double (or even triple) your contribution, making an even bigger impact with your charitable giving!
