VT Seva Atlanta CPR Session

CPR Workshop April 29th 2024

VT Seva Atlanta organized a CPR workshop on April 29, 2024 at Sharon Library. It was a successful event with more than 50 youths and adults 35 learned how to do good quality CPR, dos and don’ts of CPR, and how to get CPR Certified from Dr. Jawahar Gazzala, Atlanta Heart Specialist and Cardiologist. Having a mindset to save somebody’s life requires knowing what to do, when to do, and confidently taking action at the time of need.

The enthusiastic participation of the youths and adults highlighted their willingness to learn life-saving skills that is much needed in modern world. We raised $1000 for the education of blind / visually challenged students of Nethra Vidyalaya. It’s a great hands-on learning experience for all!






April 30th 2023

Atlanta VT Seva team has organized a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) session on April 30th, 2023 at the Cumming Library in Forsyth County. The main objectives behind this CPR session are to share CPR insights, provide hands-on training, and assist youths and adults in practicing CPR. This CPR session started with an Atlanta VT SEVA 2021-2022 Initiatives & Activities video exhibiting various service projects in 2022 and 2023 by the Atlanta VT Seva team. This CPR session was facilitated by Dr. Jawahar Gazzala, Atlanta Heart Specialist, Cardiologist by profession, and Sumir Nemani, GA Tech CPR-certified student.

Dr. Jawahar first shared the American Heart Association (AHA) CPR guidelines, dos and don’ts of CPR, 3 Cs of CPR (check patient, call 911, and start chest compressions), what to do when you see people having cardiac assets in public places, and much more. Later Dr. Jawahar and Sumir gave CPR live demonstrations of 1 Person CPR on a practice dummy and all children and adults practiced with them using their pillows assuming their pillows to be human bodies. They also went over how to do 2 personal CPR and helped our youth and adults practice it. They urged everyone to register in CPR classes and become CPR Certified, as it's an important life skill to have which can save somebody’s life in case of emergency. Overall, it was a fantastic CPR session in which we had over 90 participants in-person. In the end, each participant who attended was given a certificate of participation and a cheat sheet of what to do regarding CPR. It was great to see our VT Seva community learn the valuable skill to save someone’s life.


June 4th 2022

Atlanta VT Seva team has organized CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) session on June 4th, 2022. The main objectives behind this CPR session is to share CPR insights, provide hands-on training, and assist youths and adults in becoming CPR certified. This CPR session started with a ‘Welcome Note’ by Dr. Madhu Nemani which was followed by Atlanta VT SEVA 2021-2022 Initiatives & Activities video exhibiting various service projects in 2021 and 2022 by Atlanta VT Seva team. This CPR session is a kickoff for VT SEVA Atlanta Summer Camp 2022 for Elementary, Middle, and High School students. This CPR session was facilitated by Dr. Jawahar Gazzala, Atlanta Heart Specialist, Cardiologist by profession and Sumir Nemani, GA Tech CPR certified student. Dr. Jawahar first shared the American Heart Association (AHA) CPR guidelines, dos and don’ts of CPR, 3 Cs of CPR (check patient, call 911, and start chest compressions), what to do when you see people having cardiac assets in public places, and much more. They also offered valuable resources of getting CPR certification from their schools and AHA site. Overall, it was a fantastic CPR session in which we had 45 zoom connections from all across US. It was a gratifying experience for all and its very well received by the audience, especially VT Seva Muscle - our VT Seva Youths.
