This year’s VT Seva Summer Camp, held from June 1st to July 31st, provided a wonderful platform for high school youth to volunteer as tutors for elementary students.
The camp featured one-on-one sessions in Math and English, along with group activities like Chess, Dance, Entrepreneurship, and Robotics and many more....
One of the highlights of the camp was the opportunity for our youth tutors to work with special needs children from Laurel Heights Hospital. This experience deepened the impact of the program and allowed tutors to develop patience and empathy, alongside leadership, communication, and time management skills.
The camp concluded with a special appreciation event, celebrating the contributions of our Youth Tutors , Students and Mentors. A total of 84 students graduated, and 56 youth tutors were recognized for their dedication. The support from parents was invaluable throughout the program.
Additionally, all our Tutors, Students and Mentors received special recognition from the hospital’s CEO and Director of Education, in appreciation of their commitment and service mindset.
Overall, VT Seva Summer Camp 2024 was a memorable and successful event, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in summer 2025!
