“No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.” – Brooker T. Washington
VT Seva Detroit Youth Board Members continued their Outreach program 3rd year in a row. As the saying third time is charm, our team leaders made this year’s student -4-student outreach program a huge success than the last 2 years. 30 team members raised more than $14,000 to support 38+ students education with the help of 239 donors.
Each team lead who participated in understood the challenges that Nethra Vidyala Students and Tribal Students face, they took their perseverance as inspiration and committed to support as much as student possible. This year in this student-4-student outreach program, team leaders met their minimum goal, however they went above and beyond to help the students education.
Team Leaders had a great opportunity to enhance their communication skills. They were able to convey their intention of helping others and raised money.
Big thanks to all the parents who were helping their children be a voice for underprivileged students.

These are the reflection messages from our team leads:
Through this experience I’ve been very thankful to reach new donors and it feels amazing to know that I was able to sponsor a year’s worth of education for more than 5 kids this year. I feel very happy to be a part of this project where we help the students of Nethra Vidyalaya and see the money raised get put to use through the students’ accomplishments.
– Saisha Srivatsan
This was an amazing opportunity to help develop my skills of public speaking and convincing. It was eye opening to go to different people and organizations to help spread the word of VT Seva causes and try to bring in donations. I'm so glad that I was able to better educate myself about VT Seva while also educating others.
– Oviya Jaisankar
This project was a great way for me to make a large impact in someone else's life and I definitely gained social skills as I had to convince others to support this cause. I think this was a wonderful way to help another person in the simplest of ways.
– Anvika Perumalla
The outreach project was definitely something new, and this was my first year doing it. I found it extremely interesting that we were given a chance to use our marketing skills to gain people to support us and our fundraising. I truly enjoyed trying to come up with different ways to persuade people to help our case while also being able to do something good and help children that really need it.
– Sneha Chandrasekar
The outreach project supported the nethra vidyalaya students. I’m glad to have been part of this amazing event to help give education to those students

Outreach. This word really resonated with me during this project. Something about helping kids who aren’t as fortunate as me really stuck with me. I really took this project seriously.
– Vishnu Athreya
I learnt How to talk passionately and confidently. Another thing I learnt was being bold and speaking in front of friends of my dad's or mom's and/or chatting with them to donate even if I didn't know them as much as my parents
– Kalki Renga
The outreach program was a very fun experience to go out and talk to people about a very important cause, and it was very fun to participate in.
– Shraya Ved
This Outreach event has been a great learning experience and an awesome way to help the underprivileged students of Nethra Vidyalaya school. I am so proud of the VT Seva community for raising more than $13,000, funding many student's educations!

It was my pleasure to advocate for the tribal children's school in the Outreach project. I learned critical communication skills convincing my friends and teachers to join our cause.
