Workday, California based company, a leading provider of cloud-based enterprise solutions, during its annual Diwali Dosti event, partnered with VT Seva, a non-profit organization serving visually challenged children in India.
Thirty-three Workday employees combined volunteered over 50 hours of their time, converting print books to digital format.
Employees proofread digitized curriculum books increasing educational access for visually challenged children.
In response Workday provided a $2600 corporate team grant to support VT Seva's initiatives.
VT Seva representatives (Arthima, Harmya, Hasini, Shetal and Rukmini) engaged with Workday employees, sharing information about the organization and facilitating meaningful dialogue.
Workmates also took time to write encouraging notes on handwritten and Braille cards made by youth volunteer’s to be delivered to VT Seva supported kids.
This collaboration highlights the positive impact made when corporations embrace social responsibility.
